Yinliang (Ricky) Tan (谭寅亮 in Chinese) is an Associate Professor in the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He is also the Bauer Fellow, Area Coordinator in Supply Chain Management, and Executive Director of EDBA program at Bauer College. Before joining University of Houston, he was an assistant professor in Management Science (Associate Professor with tenure confirmed), Irving LaValle Early Career Professor, Executive Director for Goldring Institute of International Business at the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
He received his Ph.D. in Operations Management and Information Systems from the University of Florida. He has rich teaching experience in business analytics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His research interests include management of technology, digital goods pricing, business analytics, and supply chain management. His work has been accepted for publication in journals including Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences and other premier academic journals. Currently, he is a Senior Editor at the Production and Operations Management. He is recognized as one of the 40 Most Outstanding Business Professors Under 40 worldwide by Poets & Quants in 2019. He has also received the Carol J. Latta Emerging Leadership Award for Outstanding Early Career Scholars by Decision Science Institute.
